Online A Reflection

Technology to me is important because its a way of communication. You can e-mail people or you can use a social network to communicate. I think the biggest way technology has changed over the last 5 years is by social networking. The old famous social network was Myspace, but now everyone has a Facebook. You can go on all of your social network on your smart phone.  I think technology will change in the next 5 years because it will be more advanced & people will have better technology.
      The technology i use for school is a computer. I use the computer for my e-mail & research for school. The technology I use for personal use is my laptop, & my phone. I use my laptop for Facebook, mostly, & occasionally for editing some of my pictures & to listen to music. I use my phone for texting, mostly & to call people. I also use my camera a lot on my phone.
      I will use some of the technology i learned in this class in the future because if i ever created a blog, i would know what website to go to. Or if i needed to create an avatar i would know how to use Audacity. I think Power Point is the most practical for learning because you can have slides filled with notes, & you can also include pictures. No one likes just copying notes without visualizing what you are writing. I don't think i will ever use  chirbit, so i probably wouldn't use Audacity very much.My favorite tool would have to be making a Blog. Even though i don't really like updating what I'm doing, I could also use it for pictures to show the people that follow me. There were also many different ways to design your blog including font, backgrounds, & the layout. My least favorite would have to be Blabberize. It was a funny website, but i couldn't get the mouth to look right.

Voki vs. Blabberize

Voki is a website where you can make an avatar of whatever character you want. You can choose what you want them to look like, the backgrounds, & you can either type or record what you want them to say. Blabberize is a website where you can take any picture you want of someone or something & make a mouth on the picture so you can also type or record what you want it to say. I would preferably use Voki because it seems more realistic.

Tracking Teresa.

This video shows that you need to be VERY careful on the Internet. Dont post or tell anyone your personal information, like where you live, your last name or your phone number. It's very easy to find information on the Internet. Tt showed that it only took someone 20 minutes to find out Teresa's full name, her age, the name of her brother, father & mother, schools in her location, what time she gets home everyday & her phone number. To me, that doesnt sound safe at all. Be careful where you are in cyberspace, who your talking to , & what you post.

What is Netiquette? It's a netowrk etiquette, which is the etiquette of cyberspace. My definiton of etiquette is proper language & behavior. So netiquette is proper rules and behaviors of the online Internet.

RSS feeds (Rich Site Summary) or (Really Simple Syndication) is a format that is regualarly changing web content. Including posts, & websites. So everyone can see & share information posted by other people.

Delicious is a website where you can link all your websites together. You can keep them organzied with tags that describe the website.

technology & me

Technology. I think its one of the most popular things in the world. Everyone uses it daily. Im using it right now. I use my phone everyday, I check updates on facebook, picture editing, and listening to music, a lot. I also am on my laptop a lot to. I use my laptop to search things on google, go on facebook (most of the time), and check my e-mail. I have an Ipod but i dont use it as much anymore because I have a phone and can use that for music.
